General criteria

We aim to celebrate and honor women who:

1. Embody the mission of the Center for Women's Leadership
2. Are recognized for their dedication to diversity within their field
3. Are known for advancing women in their field
4. Have a reputation in their professional community for integrity in their work
5. Have a record of public service interest (activism, board membership, etc.)

 

AWARD CATEGORIES

TRANSFORMING POLICY
Awarded to a woman who advances gender equity within the fields of policy, law, or advocacy.

BOLSTERING COMMUNITY
Awarded to a woman who shows leadership and integrity within the civic or business sphere.

NONPROFIT TRAILBLAZER
Awarded to a woman who works in the nonprofit sector to make a big impact on our region.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT
Awarded to a woman who has a longstanding record of community impact and public service.

Last year alone, the CWL served women and girls from 40 high schools and 21 Colleges/Universities around the state.

In 2017, we served over 415 women and girls from across the state.

On average, 16% of our annual NEW Leadership Oregon Cohort are mothers.

Each NEW Leadership Oregon Cohort has participants ranging in ages from 18-55+.

The 2017 NEW Leadership Oregon Cohort was composed of 58% women of color.

Interests from this year's cohort include Biomedical Engineering, African American History, Political Science, Business Management, and Mathematics.

Our Mission

Through dedicated outreach, education and skill training, the Center for Women's Leadership empowers women and girls in Oregon to embrace their voice, lead confidently, and change the narrative of their leadership. Our ethos and programming honors and respects the intersecting identities and leadership journeys represented in our communities.
